Was kind of thinking I need a need a macro lens, but I could have been really, really wrong... maybe I should have gone the other way...

Dinner and Drinks
Long-time since last catch up (and we missed Diana a bit). Had nice dinner at Bondi Cafe with Lu-chan.
Then we got brave enough and tried the Norwegian bar too. My drink was nice, Lu's hand bag attacked her glass, it could have been her iphone fault since it has been acting up quite a lot lately.
Then 2 hours at Velour's. It was not super lively there but at least we got some Champagne and I leaned that "Champai" is how you toast with bubbly.

Lazy Summer Day
After a slow start with reading (half-way through the not very well written "The Diana Chronicles"), followed by 45 min of yoga with profuse sweating, ended up in the shadows in Yoyogi with another book. Then when I came back, guess who skyped me? And after that, I also got a tour of the parent's garden. How did people communicate before wlan and light laptops? Got to see the koi, Aron running on the pond bridge, my walnut tree and the new parts of the pond too.
My view for a few hours in yoyogi... if they only had wlan here, or softbank hadn't blocked teathering.... could have stayed all day :)

Yokohama Lunching
Today I had lunch with Hiromi and the Etherstack crew down in Yoko. Got some nice Chinese food, followed by a walk though Chinatown and then up to Yokohama station.

Post Card from Austria
Is people sending post cards in this day and age? Well my mum is, but I think it is mostly sentimental value, since I almost every day get an email with photos and complete update of what she's been up to on her holiday.
But it is nice in a way, to get something tangible, something I know she's been holding in her hands just a little while ago... miss my mummy a bit.

Kamakura Trip
海の日 and we are off from work, to celebrate the day of the sea. Kamakura has sea, so we decided to go there. On the way to the train, we had to cross Shibuya crossing; if you are going to to do something, like buying a flashy car, I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but there is something appealing with people who go all in...
From golden cars, to golden gates... or a pink lotus flower in front of a golden gate in Kita-Kamakura.
Dragon screen door at the shrine.
Oh, no! The rock is coming down. Good thing the Hjorts were strong enough to hold it up.
I know that one is supposed to kill ones darlings and just pick the best, but I was not in the mood for duck hunting so you will get the 3 best photos. She was really calm and relaxed and I'm sure I could have cought her if I wanted (but did not want to make a scene inside the temple area...).
Then we went down to the beach... windy... sandblasting, I'm sure it has some este value, but it was quite unpleasant, so we did not stay very long. As general information it could be worth mentioning, there were quite a lot of semi-dressed, semi-sober, more or less cute Japanese girls hanging about on the beach...
Time for new Camera?
So today it happened, what I for long time been waiting for (and partly using as an excuse for needing a new camera) the strap to my 20D broke. Yes, a EOS 20D it is really old, every time I have recharged the battery I need to set the year and time; need to turn it up all the way from 2004. Luckily for the lens I caught it before hitting the ground...
That brings us to the next questions a) Do I really need a new camera? b) EOS 7D or is the 5Ds that much better?

South Shinjuku
When I moved in, the real-estate boy said, don't open your bath room window, neigbours don't like to be seen. Retro-spect, maybe he should have told me, don't hang out on the fire escape with your "it is not huge, but it feels substantial in your hand" lens... this time did not look at the shy neigbours, maybe next time....

Stand-Off at the Boarder
Negotiations between Korea (supported by L.V. Bear) and the Mexicans have collapsed. There is now an open conflict at the edge of my desk, and Hirabae-san replied by strengthening his defence with a metal beetle. Did I say that his Mexicans have red eyes and fire coming out of their head? I then sent a paper 鶴 (crane) to the line, let's see how this develops next week. (Might have to go to おもちゃ屋 to rally the troops this weekend)

Rainy Season - You Can End Now!
Started out pretty good today, sunny and nice. Then the rain came. Good thing though, Tokyo can be kind of pretty in the rain.
