I Couldn't Help Myself

About 3 hours after I knew of its existence, it was mine. That was the time it took me to finish up things at work, and maybe more importantly convince myself that I deserved one. I will admit it, total lack of self-control, but what to do, when you feel your heart beat speeding up, the first time you lay eyes on it. My top excuses are, (not in order)

- You can't always get what you want - but when you can, get it!
- Salary day on Monday - I will survive.
- Hey, I bought the 11'' it is cheaper!
- I'm going to Sweden in 2 weeks, the other one is kind of big and heavy. I needed it.
- It is kind of annoying having to carry the old macbook, up and down the stairs. Better to have one by the bed and one down stairs.
- I deserved a little gift, I have been a nice girl, and it was just by birthday and all.

But, the truth, I saw it, I felt my heart beating faster, I saw no real reason not to.

Back from Beijing

Room with a view; my view from the hotel room. The hotel is not super posh, but it is basically in the same building as the office. You do not even need to cross any streets to go there, and I actually think that you could walk indoors all the way (save 5 meters or so).

I felt at home at my hotel room, almost as big as my Tokyo flat, and with glass walled shower/bath tub. I could watch the telly from the tub... telly tubbies...

Cleas and Michael (FDC did not stick on any photo this time) drinking beer. Some got tired quicker than others, and  I think it was proven "gammal är äldst".

Communist art in the background, boys in the foreground. There were holes in the table cloth, and the plates were chipped, but the food were tasty and cheap.

Garlic sauted suger peas, a pile of fried potato straws and my favorite spicey seafood.

Yes, and I know... I should go there more often. Good discussions with collegues, very warm welcome and it is nice to feel appreciated for what you do and think. Beijing Rocks! (at least that way, I have a list of things that do me head in.)

Ogura Omiyage

If you have good colleagues like me, and they go to Vietnam, you can get good gifts like these. Dried fruit, chocolate powder and best of all jasmine flower tea.

Resident Evil: Afterlife

Me, Martin Miskowicz, Martin Moszkowicz (apparently executive producer) and Multiple Millas dodging bullets under my neighbourhood. And I guess everything you see in the movies are not true.

2 hours later, the crossing is there again. And a bit disappointed that you could not see how Tomigaya Bunker survived in the movie, but I'm sure it did.

Ozzy at International Forum Tokyo

Concerts in Japan are a bit different from other places in the world. And now realised that I have lost the article I was asked to write for Kiss Army Sweden, back in 2004 or was it 2005. It pretty much sums it up. You have your dedicated seat, you are expected to stand by your seat and nowhere else. If the your ticket say the show will start at 19.30, the show will start at 19.30 (no annoying supporting acts). You have people coming directly from their work, all salary man -uped, you have kids, you have girls in flowery dresses. Today there were a group of Russians with very tasteful 神風 bandannas. And then there was me. First concert ever I gone to alone. I guess there is a first for everything, except things you never do.

Yes and I did not bring a good camera, only the iPhone4 (which is a big improvement from previous iPhones, but still leaves quite a lot to wish for in the zooming area). But Ozzy was visible, doing his best to get the crowed as crazy as you can get, while nicely staying by your seat. Being at an Ozzy show, should be added as activity in Runkeeper, you have to jump upside down, touch the ground (classical Ozzy frog jump), wave your arms from one side to the other, jump again, clap your hands, shout, all orchestrated by your own aerobic instructor Mr Osbourne.

Googled for the set list, but no one have updated it yet. So let me give you some highlights, Bark at the Moon, Let me hear you shout, I don't know, Fairies wear Boots, Suicide Solution, Road to Nowhere, Shot in the Dark, Rat Salad,  Mr Crowley, Iron Man, Killer of Giants, I Don't want to change the world, Crazy Train, Mama I'm coming home, Paranoid and finally No more Tears... actually.. I think that was all, and possibly in that order too :)

It is never good to have a seemingly death sound technician. And for future reference to all bands, if you feel you need a break, do like Deep Purple did at the same Arena a year ago, have official intermission. Supporting acts might only be topped by drum soles and noisy guitar solos, on my not like so much scale. Fun side not though, is that both the drummer and the guitarist actually are younger than I am :)... I miss Zakk Wylde though would have been awesome.

All things comes to an end, at least those things you try once, Yurakucho to the left, Tokyo Station to the right. Less people than during rush hour on my way over there.

Muzak and Crazy Jazz

Shopping in Tokyo can be pleasant and therapeutic, and it can be scary. Grocery stores likes crazy Jazz that I can handle, that I can block out, or sometimes when they found a good track even enjoy. But then we have the kombini (convenient store), some days I'm completely certain that they are doing every thing they can to scare you out of there. Muzak is scary... take a song, that you normally would classify as best case cheezy-sleezy, transform it to Muzak and it gets plain scary.

Oh yes!

Birthday

Very tastey birthday with Martin at Park Hyatt. I had crabfish tagliatelle, grilled tuna, and happy birthday cheese cake with black berries and ice-cream, yes and bubbly Bollinger.

Then we went to look for Scarlett at the bar for a while, did not see her. And for some reason we did not end up in Giroppon, but instead went home around midnight. I actually woke up at 8 am and felt fine. Now I just have to figure out something just as nice for his b-day that is coming up very soon.

Thank Photo booth for the over exposuring... do not have time to fix it right now...

I suspect German Intervention, in my house. I have not essen/fressen them yet. Will save them for Der Geburtstag .

Birthday Things and Things to Wear on my Birthday

Got this giant post card today, lovely fall photo from Mother, Father, Granny and my mum's newest love.... Mint; wishing me a nice birthday with good food, drinks and gifts. Luckily, I have a hair dresser appointment and then a booking at Park Hyatt, think I'm covered with the good food and drinks there... and will look pretty while eating.

And today it arrived, the Victoria Secret things we ordered. Now I just need to find a dress that is as pretty as the underneath. And on top of that, I got a bag (actually 2 but I will try and give the black one back, since I will probably not use it that much as maybe some other friend of her's) from Britt-chan. Might use that on Friday too.

Somebody Got a New Watch

It wasn't me, but I got to try it on (under supervision of cause). Very pretty, very heavy, it probably eats other watches for breakfast.
