Brunch in the Basement

Morning Sun of Malmo

Salt&Brygga

Last few days of Torso turningness, and big city life in a small town.

Salt&Brygga, ambitious, tasty with a potential to go that step further and become really good. The food was nice, the service was good (with normal Swedish standards brilliant).

They have asked me several times; why do you not eat Squid in Sweden? I have speculated, saying, they do not live that far up north. I was wrong; they do, or at least have done, until I ate the one.

Beatroot and ice-cream; how could that plan ever get old?

Kattarp Metropolitan Area and a Cat Named Mint

This is as central it gets in the village I was born. Please observe the church in the background, a nice traditional Skåne church with limestone white walls, and stepped gable and a choir designed by C.G. Brunius (mostly known for renovation of the Lund dome). The building at the end of the road was once the local library. In the foreground to the left, first the drive way down.... my best friend Daniel used to live there, the next house (you only see hedge and big tree) that is where Elsa, used to live. She was my dads teacher from 1st-3rd grade. Then from 4th-6th, me and dad actually had the same teacher (Bert Persson)... then we split up, until high school, when I got my dad's old junior high school teacher as my main teacher.

Kattarp Metropolitan Area have had modernities like zebra crossings for almost 20 years, we are still waiting for the first traffic light. The neccessity due to heavy traffic (as shown in the photos), is still pending.

Reason for the Kattarp M.A. vistit was, a grandma visit followed by a trip to Ängelholm (angel islet) to visit My Man Man Mint and his new grandma. Both of them seem to enjoy each others company which made me very happy. Lots of playing, lots of cuddling and company all day and night...

Headed for the Western Light

I will not go into the whole annoyance with over booked flight, not possible to upgrade, not possible to get proper food, instead focusing on the fact that I made it out of Japan before the taifoo came.

Normally, you head for the eastern light (breaking down the walls, we're strangers riding, to the land of the rising sun), but today we had a very norther route which made the day linger at the horizon until we came a across the Ural mountains. About the same time when I started questioning if I actually packed my Swedish phone or not; having 10% battery left on the flight-mode:ed Iphone, since playing Kanji Box most of the flight. No phone, no means of contacting Mr M that was supposed to come and pick me up. All good in the end, even if Docomo Experia probably had been searching for network during most of former Soviet ( I blame Totoro for switching it on), google chat saved me - Data roaming for the win!

And when reaching the Turning Torso, the Swedish SIM card and phone were phone (underneath Totoro), and also Lingon Grova with cheese and tomato, and some bubbles that I bought at the air port because I was in a bad mood (would probably have bought them any way.... Champagne need no excuses)

Postpartum Debriefing via Skype

Aron II is the cutest baby ever, or that is what her hormones are telling her. A more impartial look and the mother admitted that if the cutest thing every is a little angry raisin, then it is true. He have hardly open his eyes, which makes a proper judgement kind of difficult. Me and baby sis had this thing, when we lived at home, we checked the morning paper, and picked the ugliest baby from the newborns' page. Our mum did not like it, said their were no such things, but I'm pretty sure Aron II will not get appointed, mostly cone head babies won.

Viggen, the big brother, was calm. Tried to stand on top of Aron II only once. Mel-man is not home yet, but his favorite toy have been stolen by raisin boy.

I got to ask almost all the question about the delivery that I could think of, except if there had been cigar smoking. There better have been, or we will have to take amends. Here is one perks of motherhood displayed, big boobies and BVS.

Here is another one, Region Skåne fishnet undies (available only in L and XL white, that is are you fat or are you really frickin' fat sizes). I'm not really sure how to comment on this, but I know, somehow there are money to be made out of this, especially in Japan. And I like the photo, baby, boobies, maternity fishnet, hand, apple skype UI and the ring on her finger.

Things only hurt to a certain level and then it does not get any worse, but understanding for people who had more than 2 hours of labour were stated. I sincerely hope that we share the same birth-giving-genes.

The daddy, did not get caught on film this time. But he had been very supportive and calm as ever. Reminding baby sister about their strategic objectives, pictures in your head to keep focus away from the pain. I need to look into that for those Wednesday afternoons when sanity gives in, they would come in very handy.

Aron2 - and a tiny bottle of Moet

Today is a good day, a year ago not so good. A year ago and some day, we lost a little furry wonder. Today we got another wonder, and I'm super proud that my sister wants the name to carry on. And I guess people will say, how can you even compare a cat to a baby... it is not about comparison, it is about something brilliant that will turn into something even better.

But stepping down from proxy-maternal-blizz, I feel kind of bad. Having questioned my mother's " it does not have to take more than 3 hours or so, to give birth; well it hurts but it is not so bad as they tell you". Baby sister gained 9kg and it took her an hour or so... I kind of feel bad, that I have not focused on giving birth to the next generation, when my genes seem to give me a "räkmacke" ride, to motherhood. But what do I know, if it ever will be my time, it could be the worst thing ever... doubt it though... I trust my mother and sister now.

Come weekend, and aunt Emma is Sweden bound. Looking forward to see Aron2 and baby sister and my family and the rest of you.
