Why is it that it feels like shopping in Sweden is something you just want to get over and done with, and not a pleasant past-time activity?

I wonder if stores would gain from being more polite and tend to the customers' needs? In Tokyo it is normal curtesy that you are greeted by the door, that they tell you just to call them if you need any help, that they ask you if you want to try on things, even if it is quite obvious that you are not going to buy it. This is common at both cheaper and a bit more expensive stores. They make shopping in to a complete experience, from that you step foot in the store, until you are outside again; with or without a bought item.

Even at posh places like Dolce&Gabbana they will ask you what you like, if you want to try it on, just to see; even if come there dressed in GAP clothes. At Tiffany's they let you try on 30000 SEK rings just for fun, and don't even get me started when it comes to the service a restaurants.

A breed of super cats

Dear counsel of Science financing. We are looking for sponsors to our project of genetical manipulating Siamese cats into having opposable thumbs. The holocaust would never have taken place if German was ruled by cats; possibly if Jews were furry toy animals, but other than that; no.

For breakfast we had tea, scones and discussions about superiourity of Oriental and Siamese cats.

Okay, I kind of feel sorry for my Japanese friends that left today and missed the white crap falling from the sky... however, I feel sorry for myself too having to walk around in this, and to sit on a stupid train and wait forever... or at least 15 minutes.

Taking a walk down the shopping street while waiting for my appointment at the beauty parlour. I might have done some impulse shopping at the Tiger store; a new suit (grey). It is so lovely to find sizes that fits me.
