Pink Friend at Beer Machine

Apparently the coolest place in Shibuya, according to my sources.

Close to Pond Experience

Today I was invited to come a long to a Marc Chagall exhibition in Ueno, learned lots of new things about the Russian-French painter. Then after the exhibit we went down to the pond in Ueno koen, to see if the Lotus still were blooming. This is the pond that in 2004 made me buy a new camera that would allow me to zoom. I realised that I was in need of that after almost falling into the dark and muddy waters underneath the flowers. But of course I did not bring the zoom lens today, and was once again living on the edge, of the pond. Managed to get a few really nice photos though.

Art Nouveau Poster Exhibition in Ginza

I pretty much wanted to steal all of them, but settled for buying the exhibition catalogue instead (which surprisingly came with 2 tickets for the next event at Matsuya). The exhibition continues until September 6, in case you fancy a visit.

Contemporary Japanese jewelery makers showed, and sold their craft on the same floor. I just had to get myself a new silver ring, made by Ryou Kawamatsu. I tried to find a web page with his arts, but did not. However, I got a chance to talk to a very friendly and talented lady called Atsuko Itou, which made very silver accessories.

Should figure out something to call dinner and maybe watch another episode of white collar before continuing working on the Japanese homework.

Two valid questions

1. Why did Sara send the same book she sent a few months ago?
2. What the hell happened to the book on its way over here? Looks like it was hit by a monsoon and still wet and mouldy when arriving at my flat.

Japanese Food for Lunch

They are on to me...

Saturday Happiness

They are both sweat hearts in their own right, but the one that really like my fake pearls is utterly adorable. And if you have not tried, dragging pearls along your teeth makes a pretty amusing sound.

He looks almost equally happy, texting away on his phone. I bet he would look even more happy if he would have played with my pearls...

One of Those Nights

すごく蒸し暑いんですけど、and all you want is to lay in a hammock together with someone you like, and talk about all those important things, and those really trivial things... and enjoy that unbearable climate of the night.

Thirsty Mannequins

It is really hot, I know. I understand why they are naked, I want to be naked too, and hangout by the vending machines... or at least get some cool drinks from them.

Thursday

Turkish food, good. Did not stay for the belly dance. Saw some hanabi though; and a fakking annoyingly big crowd....

Wise men have told me, Thursdays are vicious nights, the night that everyone get too drunk for their own good and forget all about Friday... I remember everything, I remember every little thing, As it happen only yesterday....

Bar keepers and Biz tripper.

Die Schwartze katz...

And then I went to the bathroom, and saw the supremes.

And then on the way home, I found this little Japanese lady crying... talked for 45 min or so... now I'm contemplating, should Japanese girls really study abroad? Their minds get too open for their own good? But still, I hope, everyone that opens up, will help the others. Make them all understand, that there are other ways of thinking (most of them already know this, in their hearts) than what they have been told.

Now need to listen to the Motown CD I got from the bar keeper at the cafe :)

Shoepping and a Knife

Went to Ginza yesterday afternoon, and became 2 pairs of shoes and a very nice shopping experince richer. Excellent service, and enjoyed a chat with fellow shopper. She ended up with the same pair as on the photo, but in gray.

I know, I should never have bought glass cutting board, it is pretty and all, but it killed my old knife. And now I found out that ceramics are harder than glass, but with the down side that it may very well destroy the cutting board instead. I need to change.

And no, it is not a Global knife.

Instead of Roppongi Playing

Other people went on dates, I should have gone to hanabi, then next plan, stay at home. But felt for an evening walk, and popped in at my favorite bar nekohachi. Asked the world's cutest and possibly best bar maid, which cigar I should try... being here alone and all.

I got four choices, picked the one that she pointed out as the most easily smoked... I know, I can be lazy that way.

I was not alone for more than a minute or so, then one of the10 people that would fit in the establishment, asked if he could come to my table. And why not?

He helped me slightly, but I'll tell you, I'm capable of handling a full one on me own.
Very cute girl that only been married for 4 months, and wanting to go back to work. There was a little bit of hissing going on, when the others changed focus form their drinks to our conversation.

Not completely sure, but it might very well have been his father at the counter.

Gave the glasses one my camera to take a few photos, and the other one, was in charge of bringing his room mate home.

And then things went slightly blurry, as they do. It is fun to have 39 size feet in Japan, you can encourage Japanese men to wear your heals.

This is not me, but the man formerly seen in this post wearing glasses... they fit him perfectly, his mates clapped their hands, I jumped up and down... high high heels on Japanese men, is not an every day thing.

They bowed, all of them to this man. I asked him why they did, he said he was older than them... I'm still not convinced. I was invited over to sit next to him. And then he caught a glimpse of my back... and then the whole bar (at that point 5 people including the ones that are working there) were behind me, checking out my back. All very very impressed of the art work, that Horizaru produced. I asked if horimono were not a bit taboo, but apparently, in this quality, size, and on a lady, it is simply art, and chouuuuu sexy.... I have not yet figured out how to explore this... but I hope

Thinking about stuff

Dinner after Walking

Was really supposed to go hanabing today, but felt I needed some Emma time instead. Woke up later, and went out for a walk instead. Did not really know where I was going, but walked towards Shimozawa, and found my way back home too.

Bought some really nice bread at a bakery I have not seen before, and made a salad. (Avocado, red onion, cucumber, tomato, some green leaves and feta cheese. A bit of lemon juice and olive oil.)

The Danish Puzzlement

I'm aware, that there sometimes have been subtle allusions to still lingering, let's call it, friendly interest between the land of the rising sun, and, well have a look at the mustache post. However, I feel there are more players on the field, which I cannot really explain. Within walking distance from my flat (normal persons' walking distance that is), are one Danish bakery and one Danish Tea shop, a purveyor of Royal Danish Court tea shop even.

Lunch

Some times, you just have to get away, from the insanity... we call it Lunch. In hot summer time, we do ice tea to cool it down.

Too Cute to Leave in the Store

And Sara, you will get this one, I'm sure Bongo will not mind... It is so small, one could call it baby-tequila.

Ebisu Grand Prix

Seems like it was a rather small event, only one car, no crowd (execpt the normal rush hour salary man).

Toy Story 3D

We did our best, did not help... the movie was crap! But we got some fun photos though :)
