Friendly Airport Limousine

Long time since last, but rumours had it that Narita Express was not running like it should. I could not be bothered to check if that was true. Some sakura have already started, but all in all they have waited for me. Even tough I was tired, it felt nice to be back at the office, and there were only one little shake while working.

Coming home, the flat was okay; strange smell but okay. I'm still to figure out what the smell is, Japanese museum kind of smell. Went to the store, the only thing they seem to have trouble stocking up is dairy products. One of the yogurt shelves were filled up with Yebisu beer instead (conclusion: you can have beer in the morning, with cereals if you like). Now catching up on backlogged episodes of Bones, Californiacation and House.

Tulips

To help spring a bit, and to make my flat feel a little bit more like home, I just had to get some tulips. Since my kitchen is somewhat equipment challenged, an old glass can had to do as a vase.

Lunch with Jennie and Vera

The sun is shining and it feels like spring is in the air. Good day to do some walking, also a good day to do some lunching at Graffiti with Jennie and Vera. After lunch we did some playing in/on/at the stone statue in front of Grand Hotel.

Swedish Saturday

Jet lag is good in the morning. I woke up before baby Aron, checked quake/tsunami/radiation news, checked SAS ticket availibility (since I hear Tokyo screaming for me already), and then baby Aron was awake. We practiced crawling in my bed. He need to learn to lift his chest up from the ground if that is going to work. Then we got dressed, made some tea, did some reading/drooling in the sofa. Then some of us wanted to suck on baby sister's nipples.

Made scones for breakfast. And then the parents came to B-town. Went down to Lund, handy daddy fixed bathroom lighting and the drains, and also the antenna outlet (found a new one in a kitchen cupboard, new=bought 3 years ago or so...). Did some basic cleaning, found 40 SEK in the washing machine, and now enjoying 固いパンとチーズ。

A bit cold outside, but the sun is shining. Want to go to the flower store and get things for the balcony... but hopefully, not much use in setting that up.

And then afternoon will turn into evening, what to do? (I seriously should try avoid go to sleep before 9...)

My Hotel Room

Baby sister had prepared one room in her house for me. Bookcase, chest of drawers, tv, DVD player with a selection of films that she thought I would enjoy.

Perk of Natural Disasters

Making the best of the situation

In an anxiety and guilt ridden state, topped off with sleep deprivation and general travel stress, we had a few hours stop over in Hong Kong on the 38 hours or so trip towards Europe. Took the train into city and got a little taste of the atmosphere and the amazing skyline.

Just arrived at my sister's place in Sweden. Will go to office tomorrow and start sorting out the work situation, as much as possible. Then keep on hoping that 福島 cools down enough for me to go back to Tokyo.

Spring

Spring does not care about the shaking.

Still Standing Strong

Tokyo in brilliant spring weather, as a contrast to all the scary news photos that are sent out all over the world. We feel the shakes here too, hopefully the have calmed down a bit now. Tokyo feels almost like normal today. Yamanotezen is running (probably not according to time table, but still more frequent than skånetrafiken ever could), about 1/3 of stores and restaurants are closed, and Shibuya crossing was not as busy at usual.

Walked to Meguro today to check out what had happened in Martin's flat - not a sign of movement.

On the way over we stopped for Pizza in NakaMeguro.

A Whole Lotta Shaking Going On

Dear Mother Earth, everyone need to stretch and move about now and then, but I think I speak for most of us when I say, that we would not at all be upset if you could consider to take a little little break now. We have seen what you can do, we know we are but small grains of dust in comparison to you and your history.

If any of you wonder where Tokyo is loacted on the map, look for the red cross that is pretty close to it.

I look like Russian Girl

Or 'some kind of actress', or '5 years younger'... Straight hair provokes many reactions.

TGI

Sometimes I lie

Last night I said that I had no idea what to buy, nothing I felt like I needed. This morning I realised that I obviously needed a new handbag, shoulder strap, small, black. Had been inside the store for less than a minute before deciding. Now, stay indoors or go outside?

The Cat is Alive

The Culture Cat down my street was spotted for the first time this year. He was out enjoying the spring sun. According to the owner, the cat is 18 years old. A cute but very thin little creature; spine and ribs almost visible through his well kept fur.

Ouuuut hoooooted!
