Saturday Continues

And then we went up to grandma's place. And the basket of the rollator was fun fun fun.

It was almost as fun as sealing across the floor and checking out grandma's wheels.

We got nice fika, with coffee, sandwiches and stuff. And I was offered bed linen too, but they were too small for my 140 bed, but very pretty and hand decorated by grandma herself. Maybe one could cut and paste those embroideries onto something that I actually can use.

Then and epic encounter - Mint meets Aron the poser...  he was sceptic too, that day 5 years ago when he met Aron for the first time, so I guess if we would give them a few days, all would be good.

Saturday with Family 1

There are more photos to come, but the internet connection here at my flat in Lund in nothing short of appalling. How am I supposed to live at this speed? Anyways, I went to Billeberga (aka B-town) then together with Sara-Aron-Johan-Melvin-Oban-Viggen to Kattarp. The pond is not only beautiful it is also very fun to splash its water around.

Have to be careful, there by the edge.

Aron trying to catch the fishes in the bucket.

And then sitting in grand-dad's lap, with a 30's inspired hair do... according to the stylist (aka grand-dad).

Let's see tomorrow if the wlan can manage to upload the photos from grand-ma's place and when Mint meets the new Aron for the first time. That and yes, a very cute cat in a tree and Aron at Willy's in Helsingborg.

Thursday - More Rain but Fun Company

And here is the photo from lunch - Susanne-chan and Ayumi-chan. Two lovely ladies and good lunch company. The later have been in Sweden as long as I've been in Japan and speaks way better Swedish than I do Japanese... Susanne has adapted, no longer getting upset by appalling service, did not even get upset when she couldn't cancel the order after 2 min.... too late it was..  but coffee should have been included...

And then, it started raining. Some of us had to go back to the office, others (Emma) to Lund. Then went to Malmö again, and the rain had started, as you can see.

Sapla the Indian restaurant with all the hits of the 80s. For a while there I suspected a hijacking of me iPod.

Then went for a second beer at a local brewery (either in or close to chokladfabriken).

Linnea-chan!

The we started talk about the exhibition I went to the day before. Our contribution a neon horse.

Retail Therapy

After a nice lunch at lilla Torg with Susanne and Ayumi, I went to check out what FilippaK had to sell to me. Found one shirt and one cardigan. Then a quick stop at VeroModa where shorts, summer dress and black little top came with. Yes, and then accidentally went through the book shop and picked up a Jonas Gardell book... worst things have happend.

Now waiting for the bus so I can go to Malmö again and meet up with Lajnea.

Lousiana

After getting my hair fixed I went to Louisana. The boat and the train were packed with mostly Swedes. Judging from yesterday's experience the Danes were probably on the boat toward Helsingborg instead. I had a nice smoked salmon sandwich for lunch.

The Me Draw on iPad, exhibition was small but kind of interesting still. Replay that allowed you to see how the drawing had been done.

The Architecture exhibition okay, but there were too many people... especially the kind that believes themselves to be transparent - bad manner people.

Then  I decided to walk back to Helsingor along Strandvej, to enjoy the lovely weather.

Tuesday - Almost no Rain day

Slow started the day, but around noon I went up to Helsingborg to meet Johanna. Before going to Annorledes I took a walk on town. 1. All stores have moved to new locations. 2. Half of all people are Danish 3. Helsingborg is kind of pretty when the sun shines.

A little dragon near Kärnan. If you got even closer to Kärnan and slottsparken you could here a live band playing "Änglahund", I tried to avoid getting closer and went down to the cafe.

Johanna had chicken pie and I had the feta-spinach one - staying old school. There were a million things to talk about, before we took the train towards Lund/CPH and guess signaling error between Malmö and Lund and surprise changes of platforms for the new train after a surprise end-stationing of our train.

She claims she is happy living in Lund, but I will take this photo as proof that it bores here. "I made a conscious choice to leave civilization,  guess that is why I'm already use to living here"...or something like that was the quote.

And after that, ran into the 3 PLD musketeers, but of that there are no pictures.

B-Town and A-Ron

Rain and 13 C, and pretty much nothing happens in Kattarp. Went for a walk after breakfast together with my dad, and got all the latest updates on water pipes that had been crushed, trees that had been cut down, where what forest animals have been spotted lately and which cows had escaped recently. So much information that I had to take a nap and watch The Antic Road Show on svtplay, and cuddle with mr Mint.

Then we went to Lund to drop of my stuff in the flat and pick up some net that should be used on new cat baby sitter's balcony. Then waited for Sara, Johan and Aron (and bonus guest Elisabet) to come back from Kalmar.

Due to some reason, which mainly involves a summer sale at GAP, Aron got lots of gifts. Here he is trying on his new guitar t-shirt and biting the Franc-Franc duck (which have a yellow led inside to illuminate your bath or be used as an interior design object).

Apparently my sister got the cutest baby there is, or at least that is what she says herself. Difficult to call her a lier after seeing the following photos.

And this one is especially for Tati-chan, nice green baby-bib right?

The whole family ( - Melvin and Viggen).

Aron is trying on his cap, new jeans and my first shoes.

Yes and his new pink/brown/white golf socks.

Comments not needed...

Pear, apple and duck...

Sunday surprise Solity at Stortorget - some metal band entertained a small crowd...

13C and Rain

Sorry, but if you like Swedish summer - get help!

In Bed with my Main Man

Summer Holiday Day 1

Traveling days are more or less unpleasant, today was a better one. Had points and SAS had space, so I could upgrade to biz class. Waiting in the lounge and get decent food, good size seat and few people around you is most def a better way to travel.

My only question when it comes to food is, why do they serve the butter at below zero temperature? I have never been able to use it on the bread.

Back in Europe, waiting for luggage at same belt as Mallorca charter tourists, a spectacle to say the least.

After waiting for the train 20 min or so at Lund C, with rain drizzeling down, gray skys and 16C I was ready to call the real-estate girl and put my Lund flat up for sale.

Got picked up in HBG since weekends and Kattarp travels are not the best combination. And no other than pretty little Mint was there to great me.

Spikes in the bathroom, shower before going to bed. Been good, it is soon morning in Tokyo and I'm still awake.

Plan for tomorrow, take some photos of my parents lovely garden, steal some photos my dad have on his computer from way back, then go to BilleB and see if Aron enjoys his gifts.

One Week Vacation

Yes, a whole week of summer holiday and I'm off to Sweden to play with Mint and baby Aron and hopefully some other people too.

Holiday mood was started already during Friday lunch at TY Harbor; avocado and smoked salmon salad.

Movie and Fika

Pirates of the Carabian was entertaining, but I really hope the 3D trend is over soon; eyes get tired. After the movie we  did fika a Wired Cafe. A hot summer eve, perfect for sitting outside, cheese cake and girly talk.

Pretty Itoko-chan :)

Hisashiburi Shaking

Tokyo was just wobbled a bit by a 3 on the Japanese scale. A 5.5 up in Ibaraki.

Beijing the Summary

The trip could have started slightly better, I was convinced that my flight was departing from Haneda, convinced until I was on the way to the station to take the short trip there and noticed 'hey, fakk, Narita, 1 hour train trip'. Luckily there was a NEX leaving 15 min later, and I made it on time.

Started to get slightly annoyed with the clientele already at the gate, kids running back and forth, people talking loudly. Strange how quickly something becomes the norm in your head. 3 hours later or so, arrived at Beijing International Airport. It is difficult to capture the feeling of the building on photo, but it is cathedral.

Taxi was semi-smooth, to the hotel. Luckily I brought a map and pointed "go there!", no smoking, no spitting. Checked in at the hotel around 10pm; Chinese hotel rooms basically the size of my flat.

It is the morning of the age of ... good weather. Previous experience of this city involves a white-yellowish fog, Skåne winter fog but hot, but this time I was blessed with a few days of blue sky and white fluffy clouds. Woke up ridiculously early, and Beijing probably showed her best face, sunrise after a night of heavy rain.

The evening of the beautiful morning involved drinks with Swedish biz-trippers. Some of them had shopped more than others. Was nice anyway, sitting outside, drinking cider and chatting with colleagues.

Next day was lunch with Fiona and Adam. They brought me to a Korean place, food was nice but even Fiona got upset about the service. And as usual, over-ordering food... Fish was spicy but good, tempura was acceptable with Japanese standards, but very nice to try different things.

And then we had Friday evening, Spanish place in Sunritun. Surprisingly good service, and proper napkins that they even put on your lap. Food was okay, but guess we are not used to the size of the servings in Beijing, still running on Tokyo reference.

Then after a stop over at Hooters, and a German place we went to Susie Wong. Do not understand why people say it is dodgy, was way more classy than Motown. Ran into some very friendly Thai people, and then there was tequila shots... Yes and there were tall, skinny Russian girls too. IPhone photo quality is not always the best, but this pretty much captured the moment.

If it was blurry at Susie's, the "taxi" ride back to Sunritun was very efficient, even managed to take a photo of our driver.

And then it was Saturday morning, Martin's living room, hotel room sized, my Tokyo flat sized. The flowers look a bit sad, but were thrown out later that day.

Another sunny day, with blue sky and a Sunritun view this time.

The fasade of UniClo.

Saturday eve, started off with a very tasty Indian place. Unfortunately they forgot 2 of the starters, took forever to bring the drinks.

Tried the inside camera of the iPhone, not so good.

Then we went to a bar called Apothek or something like that. Good interior, kick ass drinks. I played with their lights...

Good ne?

Put something on a lamp and it looks way cooler, even eye drops...

The courtyard where the cool bar was. Did not try any of the other places there, but good athmos.

Red Club I think this one was called.

Lots of people enjoying the summer night outside.

She had a way better camera than the one I brought, and the one I have at home for that matter; EOS 5D.

On the way back home, we had a look at the snacks.

There were lots of different options.

Corn cob was what I settle for... look to the far right... I told the man to keep them far apart....

If it was not obvious from the photo above, it is a silkworm larva... and it was moving about on the plate until I picked it for this bbq session.

A brave man, tries the local cuisine.

If a picture says more than 1000 words, I'm convinced that fried silkworm is not the best alternative there is. The corn cob was very tasty though.

Following day, walking from Sunritun to the forbidden city... via a what I would call abandon Folkpark feel of a park. This was the best, and most non-folkpark photos I took. Big pond with small fishes.

Lotus flowers, some of them already in bloom. But still looking forward to August in Ueno koen.

The Party is turning 90 this year. Celebrations going on all around central Beijing.

It was too hot, too many tourist, too many people trying to flog tat. But still it was rather amazing. The forbidden city has over 8000 rooms, and most of them look the same.

The wall of 9 dragons, the prettiest part of the whole thing. I want one of those.

Lunch of the last day. Me, Daisy and the new girl went to a noodle place that Muzi brought me earlier on. Hot, spicy noodle soup. My new favorite Chinese dish. And that day I picked Chrysanthemum tea too (since that was the only beverage I could read on the Chinese menu), but I guess ignorance is a bliss... it was hot but tasty. We all sweat like crazy and used up half a box of tissues.

Miss Daisy, you can not see it in this photo but she is seriously pregnant.

Mushroom with garlic and seaweed salad.

And last but not least, the soup. It is not bean soup standard but a very good option to it. And then it was time to say good-bye and go back home. Adam was nice enough to carry my suitcase down to the street, stop a taxi for me and explain were I was going.
