So, first full day in Tokyo... my plan was to sleep a week, but then I got so happy from all the "welcome home" wishes I got on FB, that I somewhere around noon decided that enough is enough, and it was time to go out there and feel if it still felt like home (spoiler alert - I'm still not sure).
Walked from Itoko-chan's place (Sengakuji/takanawa area), via Azabujuban to Roppongi. Yes, we all know it does not look the same during day. However, I managed to notice that Heartland is no more. I'm not too sad about this fact, but being daytime and all, I'm not sure that the replacement place "Tusk" (or something similarly elephant related) is that much better. I might investigate this later in the week.
From Roppongi to Aoyama and Pure Cafe for lunch (and actually breakfast too). The soup was very tasty, the bread too. Sallad was nice, and the carrot, pumpkin peanut stuff... well peanuts should stay away from food, they are drink snacks not food! The little dessert cake was really nice though.
Aoyama to Omotesando, and apparently there is a new Apple store.
I kind of forgotten, how annoyed I get with people who cannot walk properly (properly being ONE direction with ONE speed). And just for the record no less than 3 Fjällräven were spotted today, 2 of them at the same time. Shibuya crossing has at least one thing in common with Clemenstorget crossing in Lund...
Then tried to walk up to Harajuku and through Yoyogi koen to Tomigaya (my old hood). But, it was closed, and apparently has been since September due to Dengue spreading mosquitos hanging about there http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dengue_fever.
Then, got my glasses sorted, got some omiyage for mother, Sara and Aron, and handed in one of my bracelet to Swarowski for them to sort out the lock that broke. Yes, and almost decided on a new suitcase at Tokyu hands.
Yamanotesen from Shibbi to ShinaG, and then walking back to Itoko's place.
