Perfect Day

Tokyo is the most decorated city by Le Guide Michelin, it is blessed with no less than 191 stars (8 three-star, 25 two-star and 117 one-star). Today was the first time I attended a restaurant that has been awarded a star, and it was very nice indeed.

Linus had selected a one-star restaurant called Oono (大野銀座)and my assistant at the office was very nice to support me make reservations yesterday.

A tiny restaurant in a back-street of Ginza. Lovely little dishes, season adapted, excellent service (and as a bounce the lady that served us is easily the most beautiful Japanese lady I have ever seen, dressed in black suit, tie, flat shoes and a very pleasant way of speaking and moving), nice composed set menu, plates and bowls adapted for the season and the food. We selected a set menu containing things like sashimi, nabe with chicken and hotate, fig in sesame seed sauce, white fish soup, fruit, sweets... we even got some of the rice made into triangular onigri beautifully wrapped in a dried banana leaf, ongiri that we got to bring home as a snack. We drank champange and nihonshuu. The little carafe was super cute and we got to select our glass from a selection that was presented to us.

I must say, that I will gladly try out other star spangled restaurants, it is well worth the money.

The Ginza koridor

Fugu fish, no we did not try those.

Then we took the yurikakome line over Rainbow bridge to odaiba. Look at the pretty restaurant boats that is cruising close to the shore; lovely colours in the water.

Yes, the mobile camera is not behaving that well if it is too dark, but I kind of like the graininess of the photos.

Linus is taking a photo of, guess what...

...the lady with the torch.

And then we rounded off the evening with a very relaxing Ferris Wheel ride.

Leaving Linus at the station in Osaki.

Oh It's Such A Perfect Day,
I'm Glad I Spent It With You.
Oh Such A Perfect Day,
