Genji - the other side of the story...

Genji monogatari (Genji's story) has often been called the world's first novel, and here 800 years later it is being retold without a single word in an intimate small basement theatre in central Tokyo.  Through dance, music, video and light, the author let us experience the life of noble man Genji - Cirque Nouveau in marriage with Japanese traditional culture.

After the show, we were invited to share drinks (as blue as Genji's wife Aoi) and to take photos with the whole ensemble.

This autumn I have been telling people going to Tokyo, if there is one thing you should do, you so should go to the Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku. I still think you should go there (because it is pretty fakking amazing), but if you only have one night in Tokyo and want to experience something really exceptional -  forget about the Robots and make a reservation for a night to remember at the Factory in Ebisu http://www.lunagata.com/news.html
