All the way to Yokohama...

...du hörde hur han jama, och svansen var så rund som hela Öresund.

With only the vision of the map in my head, me and Chris set off to Tobe station, one stop after Yokohama stn. When we got off the train, we needed to consult Chris' map and realised that we need to walk in the opposite direction. And coffee was called for. A very local cafe and this was just the beginning of our visit in white-trash-japan.

Across from the store was Horiyoshi III's tattoo studio and museum. The man himself was not there, so I did not make an appointment, but I will try and call later. It would be super cool to get something done in Yokohama by him. Me and Chris visited the museum instead and oh my, lots of fun things to look at, but you had to climb over two well tattooed ladies to get into the museum, they were fixing up their nails. Very friendly though, and when we exit the museum/ill kept warehouse we got one merchandise lighter each. We may need to start smoking now....

That said, we headed towards the Yokohama landmark tower; highest observatory in Japan with a 360 degree view of Yokohama.
Chris-Cross is not making me jump, but is taking a photo of the tower prior to entering.

View from the observation floor 69.

Yet another never-ending city.

Fishy, fishy, fishy, pooooohhhhh.....

Today's winner in the Finding Nemo category. Clown fishes at the landmark tower.

And once again, I have found myself under the railroads, trying to capture some Japanese street art

The bluest wall in Yokohama.

First stencil I found in Japan.

Ramen museum, theme park cheeziness.

And guess what we did after that? ....

Shinkansen!!!!!!!!

It was my first time with Shinkansen, big day today. :) And please don't ask me about the layout of the photos, some are centred other are left aligned... it angers and confuses me...

Don't you wish you had soup like me?

Meiji Shrine

The Real Deal

Hej PETER och tack! Jo, ja kan blogga en buss. Ja hade uppskattat om du förstått det.

Local bus in Shibuya, on request by Peter "the Real Deal" Eliasson.

The buses are called Hachiko bus, named after the faithful (yet stupid dog) that sat waiting for its owner by the station everyday, long after the owner had died. You never hear about cats doing that... they would probably just find themselves someone else to own.

Under another bridge

The Breast Illusion

Last time I lived in Tokyo I was fat but tall, I think I have mentioned this before. However, I was the same height as now, and might even have been a few kilos less. Now I see fat Japanese girls all over town, everyday, and I still feel tall but average size wise. I even fitted an M-size shirt I bought the other week. It was a bit tight over the chest though, otherwise good.

And this is what really puzzles me, breast size. Mine seem to have got bigger, or have I become smaller and they stayed the same? Do they swell in the heat? Or is it all an illusion, me feeling thinner but being the same, still comparing myself to the most often small chested Japanese girls?

Namnsdags present

Thank you mum and dad! I'll have to try to eat the chocolate even if it is dark... not to keen on too cacaoy chocolate.

Sunrise, Under the Bridge

What a nice location for a bar. We are waiting for the boys to come to Hachiko, but I did not come long for the dancing since I'm still tired from yesterday. Walking home trough Shibuya, I love Tokyo summer nights.

Sega Club

Advanced photo booths, at the arcade. Me and I-chan are playing.

Dinner with Itoko

Fishnet

Waiting for Itoko-chan to come over.

Hangover Yoga

- I do not recommend it. Especially not in a steaming hot room.

But I do recommend the thing at caused this sad state; Friday evening and night with Chris in Shibuya. First we went to Dubliner's and had cider and margaritas. Then we went to the shadier place of town, and I annoyed the pet shop owner by asking lots of questions about the situation for the dogs and cats they sell. And also informed him that this would be totally unacceptable in Sweden. He was very friendly though, and asked lots of questions on how pets were sold in Sweden, which types of dogs were popular, etc... I think I will go there again... and be annoying.

Then we went to 1987 Bar, just next to the Love cafe. A tiny place with very nice people working there. There were tequila shots drunken, champagne cassis, mojito and a blue drink....

And then, we decided to leave the love hotel area for the night, and went to the bars under the Yamanote tracks between Harajuku and Shibuya. I do recommend the bar named Piano there. It is a kitsch overdosed 2 floor 10 people place... We first shared the sofa (red velour of cause) with 2 Japanese girls, then they left... and we stayed... It was nice to lay on the sofa and look at the interior design there... 2-3 beers later, it was time to go home... I will bring my camera there next time!

And looking at the track record, I certainly deserve being the state that I'm in today.... And also, I must say I'm very happy to have a new partner in crime here in Tokyo, that feels like having a brother...

Today's DIY Tip

In case, you just like me have some difficulties in tying an obi around your yukata by yourself, consider using one of your corsets instead. I think it looks pretty, and the pattern actually works with the yukata.

Today after work, me and my new friend and colleague Miho went yukata shopping for me. We found a very pretty one, with obi and geta, and also bought the whole shitagi set (lots or small ropes and things and a very thin white kimono that you should wear underneath). Also bough a fan and a little bag. Itoko-chan is looking for a suitable hanabi for us to visit, all dressed up, and I hope both her and Miho will be able to attend. And lots of other people too :).

I also got invited to try out Miho's ikebana class, which I'm really looking forward to. I have never tried it before, and I guess it will be a good experience. If all else fails then I will take photo's of the other students' arrangements instead :). But why not, it might be something I can enjoy, I like flowers, shapes, textures, balance, compositions and colours.

It Came from Tomigaya

I have a pet spider, I don't know if he or she knows. Yesterday he was in the kitchen, today he is checking out the new internet connection. I wonder if they have poisonous spiders in Japan... Nen no tame ni, if you know a aracno-expert, could you ask them to have a look at mine? And just a tip here expert is not the same as phobia.

Internet Up and Running

As the observant viewer might see, there is a cableTV modem blipping away in the back ground. And I'm yet again fallen in love with Apple; I unwrapped my airport plugged it in and was up and running... it does not need to be more difficult than that. I have not decided just yet if I should get an MacAir or an Imac or both... which seems a bit too much... but after the encounter with the easy to start wlan, I should really consider supporting them by buying both. Besides the batteries are all out in the old one, that I got as a "tröstpris" in the big divorce settlement of 2005. And then it was already 2 years old.. which makes it a million years old now....

And also, I must say that I like my mobile camera, it takes lovely grainy photos, and my flat is a brilliant backdrop.

Sweat and Not the Pocari One

When the temperature is soaring and all around the city you see the walking wounded and the living dead. It's never been this hot and i've never been so bored, And breathing is just no fun anymore. The subways are steaming and the skin of the street is gleaming with sweat.... thank Meatloaf...

Yes, let's talk about sweat, because this is one of the main features these days here in Tokyo at the moment. You drink water and you perspire and you drink more water. And I guess you all could agree that there are different kinds of sweat, but may one type be transformed into the other or will it stay the same. Is it upper back sweat that are collected in the lining of my panties or is is something else... Is this a blessing or is it a curse, does it get any better, does it get any worse, will it go on for ever or is it over tonight... it will get worse... next month.. but then lovely fall will come, with the turning of leave colours and cooling winds...

I'm an Alien

I believe in aliens, I'm a registered alien in Tokyo.
